Personal Experience

Ms Hooi Tsae Yun graduated from Multimedia University with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2018. She commenced her legal training as a Pupil-in-Chambers at Messrs. Chia & Lee, Melaka, under the guidance of Mr. Lee Kiat Lee. She was subsequently called to the Bar and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2019.

Ms Hooi has extensive experience in handling general litigation, family law matters, conveyancing, as well as banking and commercial law. Her practice includes commercial and consumer banking transactions and a wide range of real estate matters, including the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of residential, industrial, retail, and office properties. During her tenure in practice, she has regularly liaised with banks and financial institutions in relation to financing and security documentation.

From January 2022 to December 2025, Ms Hooi served as a Partner at Messrs. JJ Lee & Co and subsequently at Messrs. William Chua, Kon & Associates. During this period, she expanded her practice to include criminal litigation, particularly cases under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. She was also actively involved in corporate advisory work and the drafting of Sand Operation Agreements and Joint Venture Agreements, including projects involving government-linked entities such as Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor and Perbadanan Teknologi Hijau Melaka.

On 16 December 2025, Ms Hooi joined Messrs. Tho, Ng & Partners as a Partner, where she leads the Criminal Litigation Department of the firm, overseeing criminal defence matters and related advisory work.

Despite her demanding professional commitments, Ms Hooi remains actively involved in non-governmental organisations. She has served as a Legal Advisor to Persatuan Penganut Tiong Ong Kiong, Melaka since 2022 and to Persatuan Keturunan Leow Kawasan Selatan since 2023. She has also been a committee member of Yong Chuan Tian (The Court of Bravery) since 2018. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M.) by the Tuan Yang Terutama Governor of Melaka in 2022.
